Kanchenjunga North Base Camp trek is a journey to the heart of the world’s 3rd highest mountain Mt Kanchenjunga (8598m). Despite the 3rd highest mountain in the world this region is very remote and barely traveled, but if you wish to go on an adventure away from the crowded trails, this is the best option for you.

Trekking to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp is a true off the beaten track experience in Nepal as it is quite challenging due to remoteness and higher altitudes, which makes it more difficult than Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek. It requires good fitness level and determination as there is very little infrastructure. We begin our trek after a scenic flight to a small air strip in Suketar at the foothills of Mt Kanchenjunga. Initially we will be trekking through unique Limbu villages getting an insight of their culture as we will be spending our nights in small family run tea houses. As we get to the alpine scenery we will also observe the cultural contrast as people look more Tibetan and their way of life is different. This region is home to rare wild animals like snow leopards and red pandas. We will be trekking through terraced farmlands and cardamom plantations, lush forests, alpine scenery all the way up to the North base camp of Mt Kanchenjunga. Towards the end of our trek we will take you through the rolling tea hills of Ilam to introduce you to the real culture, beauty and tradition of far East Nepal. Contrast of culture, isolated villages, rare wild- life, glaciers, alpine scenery, a unique way of life, less traveled trekking trails, mind blowing views of Mt Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan peaks are some of many highlights of Kanchenjunga North Base Camp Trek. It’s an adventure of a lifetime.
