Kanchenjunga Circuit trek is a journey to the villages at the foothills of world’s 3rd highest mountain Mt Kanchenjunga (8598m). This trek is a tailor made itinerary created by Oneals Backpackers Adventure to introduce you to the culture, beauty and way of life of Far East Nepal. If you want to enjoy the Himalayan views from lower altitudes and away from the main touristic trails, then this is the best option for you.

Kanchenjunga Circuit is a true off the beaten track experience in Nepal and easier than other treks in Kanchenjunga region because we will not be hiking in high altitudes during our journey. It still requires a good fitness level and determination due to very little infrastructure and commodities. Our trek starts after a scenic flight to a small air strip in Suketar at the foothills of Mt Kanchenjunga. We will be trekking through terraced farmlands, cardamom plantations, lush forests, water falls, small settlements and spending our nights with local families throughout the journey. This trek also showcases the cultural contrast of Far East Nepal. Mainly Limbu people – a unique ethnic group with their own culture – are living in the lower areas. In the higher areas there are Sherpa settlements with their own customs and traditions. If we are lucky enough we might also see some rare wild animals like snow leopards and red pandas. The views of Mt Kanchenjunga, Mt Makalu, Mt Kumbakarna and other Himalayan peaks are flawless throughout the trek. Towards the end of our trek we will take you through the rolling tea hills of Ilam to introduce you to the tea culture and the beauty of Far East Nepal. Contrast of culture, isolated villages, rare wild-life, alpine scenery, a very unique way of life, less traveled trekking trails and mind blowing views of Himalayan peaks  are some of many highlights of Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek.
